Rocky Mountains

November 13, 2008

I don’t know if it’s the fact that I am not a Colorado native, but I am constantly captivated by the scenery. My new office is west facing, and has a massive view of the Rocky Mountains.

These rigid peaks of rock and dirt almost seem alive at times. Everyday, they look slightly different. Everyday, they entice me to leave my cubicle and aimlessly walk towards them like a zombie. I feel like God communicates to me through the Rockies. He offers hope, beauty and mystery all simply at the sight of the majestic. Sometimes, when the clouds are hanging low, and you can barely make out the summits, it looks like the sky has been ripped in half. An uneven paper tears across the endless tapestry of the sky.

  1. That is a great view from your office!

Seriously, I am with you Josh. I am facinated by how the mountains can look taller, shorter, closer, farther, depending on how the light hits them. Amazing.

  2. (they are alive)

  3. Have you climbed one of the 14ers yet? It makes then even more awe inspiring. 🙂 Oh, and I’ve lived here my whole life and feel the same way. 🙂

  4. I still need to climb a 14er!

  5. i am a colorado native and am ceased to be amazed by its beauty. sometimes it’s so amazing i think that it looks as if God placed a painting against the horizon. it’s too beautiful to actually be real.
