Intentional Prayer

March 23, 2009

So my church has started a 21 days of prayer and fasting, leading up to Easter. I think this is a really great idea. I have decided to be intentional with my prayer. Too often, I just find myself praying about whatever is on my mind at that moment. Obviously there is nothing wrong with that, I just feel that we also need to be specific and thoughtful in our communion with God.

My resolve is to write out 5-10 things in my moleskin to pray for that week. Whether it be people or situations. I look forward to seeing God move!

  1. I would agree. I am a geek, but one thing that’s worked for me is to keep a running list in Google Docs. Every time I do my devotionals, I also pull that list up so I can be intentional about my prayer. Moleskine or Google Docs, I think it’s a great idea!

  2. great idea dood!

  3. I think this is a beautiful endeavor. Prayer and fasting are so powerful, and the fact that you want to give it heightened direction is great. Best wishes for an enlightening fast and may your prayers illumine.
